Pyrotechnic Use Act

Pursuant to the Pyrotechnic Use Act, no person may act as a consumer distributor or retailer, or advertise or use any title implying that the person is a consumer distributor or retailer unless registered with the Office of the State Fire Marshal ("OSFM"). No consumer fireworks may be distributed, sold, transferred, or provided free of charge to an individual who has not been issued a permit in accordance with the Act or has not registered with the OSFM. Provided below are links to this Act, the Emergency Administrative Rules implementing the Act, and the registration form, which must be submitted to OSFM.

Pyrotechnic Distributor and Operator Licensing Act

Pursuant to the Pyrotechnic Distributor and Operator Licensing Act, any person, company, association, group of persons, or corporation who distributes display fireworks for sale in Illinois, or provides them as part of a pyrotechnic display service in Illinois, or provides only pyrotechnic services must be licensed by the OSFM. Moreover, any person that conducts pyrotechnic or flame effect displays in Illinois must be licensed by the OSFM.
